On Monday, Feb. 24, employees at the cafeteria of the Department of Housing and Urban Development were taken aback when an unusual video featuring President Donald Trump aired on the screens.
The clip displayed the phrase “Long Live the Real King” alongside AI-generated footage of President Trump bowing to Elon Musk’s feet.
The HUD footage was shared by a source within the department with Vox journalist Rachel Cohen, who subsequently posted it on social media.
It remains uncertain how this bizarre video found its way onto the cafeteria’s monitors, but a HUD representative vowed to hold accountable anyone involved.
“A further squandering of taxpayer funds and resources. Appropriate measures will be taken against all involved,” HUD spokesperson Kasey Lovett stated to DailyMail.com.
Musk serves as a special adviser to the president and is leading the Trump administration’s DOGE initiative aimed at enhancing government efficiency.
Federal employees are increasingly frustrated with Musk’s attempts to downsize staff, particularly following his demand that they report their weekly accomplishments.
An email titled “What did you do last week?” incited displeasure among government workers by insisting they reply with “approximately five bullet points of what you achieved last week and CC your manager.”
In a post on X, Musk threatened that not adhering to the email’s requests would be interpreted as a resignation from the employee.
The cutoff for responses was set for the end of Monday, Feb. 24.
Musk’s handling of federal employees has ignited outrage, with workers claiming he is behaving like an unaccountable dictator.
They are calling for Trump to dismiss the billionaire founder.
President Trump reaffirmed his backing for Musk’s initiatives to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.
In remarks made from the Oval Office on Monday, Trump expressed that he believed the email sent to federal employees was “fantastic.”
