Upgraded Driver’s License and Number Plate Systems Underway – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) announced its plans to implement an improved and upgraded system for processing driver’s licenses and vehicle registration plates, aimed at ensuring efficient and effective service across the nation.

During the 2025 Customer Service Week celebration in Abuja, FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, shared this information with staff and stakeholders.

Mohammed highlighted that the upcoming system would dramatically shorten wait times, facilitate quicker processing, and enhance data accuracy, emphasizing that this initiative is part of wider efforts to modernize FRSC functions through technological advancements. He expressed that the FRSC values the priceless trust and loyalty of its clientele, considering them as essential collaborators in the Corps’ achievements in road safety management throughout the nation.

“Every challenge that is resolved, each opportunity taken, and all milestones achieved are made possible by the trust and loyalty of our clients,” remarked the Corps Marshal.

Mohammed recognized the cooperation and dedication of both FRSC staff and its customers with gratitude.He promised that the Corps would persist in advocating for sound legislation, effective policy execution, and ongoing enforcement. He stated this commitment would aim to lessen road accidents, fatalities, and injuries nationwide.

Additionally, he extended an apology to both the team and customers for the delays and challenges encountered in obtaining driver’s licenses and number plates over the past period.

“I want to assure them that we are enhancing and upgrading the technology and infrastructure regarding these two services.”By God’s grace, we will be launching an improved system within this month to boost service delivery and efficacy,” he added.

The Corps Marshal also urged drivers and all road users to continue adhering to traffic laws and regulations, stressing that compliance remains the cornerstone of safety on the roads.

“We want to remind our numerous motorists and road users to keep following road traffic laws and regulations, as safety must always be our priority and commitment,” said Mohammed.
