Renowned online figure VeryDarkMan is facing criticism after disclosing that ₦180 million was purportedly misappropriated from his NGO’s website, leaving only ₦20 million intact.
In a video currently making the rounds on X (formerly known as Twitter), he conveyed his agony, stating:
“For the past several days, I haven’t felt like myself. Someone breached the NGO website, and I’m perplexed as to how it happened, but ₦180 million has vanished.”
This revelation comes on the heels of the recent launch of his NGO, which is dedicated to enhancing Nigeria’s educational landscape. Soon after announcing the initiative, VeryDarkMan shared his banking information, leading hundreds of Nigerians, including notable personalities, to contribute significantly, amassing ₦200 million in donations.
Nevertheless, the news of the alleged breach has been met with considerable doubt. Numerous social media users have questioned the authenticity of his assertion, accusing him of deceit and expressing concerns regarding the accountability of the funds. The incident has ignited passionate discussions online, with some urging for transparency while others call for a thorough investigation into the issue.
In spite of the setback, VDM stands firm in his resolve to retrieve the embezzled funds, pledging to persist in his efforts for the mission that has won the affection of countless individuals.
True to his commitment, Verydarkman announced that he has initiated a comprehensive probe into the online theft. In the footage, he was accompanied by a security specialist assigned to the case. He revealed that they were headed to Jos, a pivotal site in the ongoing search for the alleged culprits.
VDM further disclosed that prior to making this announcement public, he had already implemented measures to safeguard the account, including shutting down the application in hopes of resolving the matter discreetly. However, circumstances compelled him to inform his followers, as the situation necessitated immediate openness.
