Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th Commander-in-Chief of the United States, signifying his return to the White House for a second stint.
This event marks his historic comeback to the White House, following his tenure as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the Capitol Rotunda due to the frigid weather outside.
Trump took the oath using Abraham Lincoln’s bible, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts.

“I do solemnly affirm (or swear) that I will dutifully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will, to the best of my capability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Trump stated during his affirmation.
Prior to Trump’s swearing-in, J.D. Vance, the Vice President of the United States, who served representing Ohio in the US Senate from 2023 to 2025, took his oath of office.
The inauguration saw the presence of numerous dignitaries, including the world’s wealthiest individual, Elon Musk, Meta’s chief executive Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s leader Jeff Bezos, and Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai.
