Why Did President Tinubu Call 6 APC Governors For a Private Meeting

President Tinubu had a private meeting with six governors on Monday afternoon at the State House in Abuja. These governors were elected under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

They include Monday Okpebholo from Edo, Nasir Idris from Kebbi, Umar Namadi from Jigawa, Biodun Oyebanji from Ekiti, Aliyu Sokoto from Sokoto, and Usman Ododo from Kogi.The meeting took place in the first floor office of the President’s house and lasted for about two hours.

However, the reason for the meeting was not shared, and no details about what was discussed were made public.No official from the Presidency gave any explanation about why the meeting happened. It happened around the same time as the country is facing some serious security issues. It also happened during ongoing political talks and planning for important events within the party and the government.

The APC has already planned to hold its national caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings next week at the Banquet hall of the State House in Abuja. When reporters tried to get comments from the governors before they left the State House, they did not respond.
