Why Did Trump Pull Out Of Ukraine Talks

President Donald Trump of the USA is stepping back from the negotiations regarding peace discussions between Ukraine and Russia, as reported by The Guardian citing American governmental sources.

Per these sources, Trump perceives a one-on-one meeting between President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Volodymyr Zelenskyj of Ukraine as the subsequent move towards resolving Russia’s invasion war. A rendezvous that they need to arrange independently.

It is reported that Trump is prepared to facilitate a trilateral gathering, but only following a private encounter between the two leaders.

Recently, the American President has had separate discussions with both Putin and Zelenskyj. According to Zelenskyj, a session with Putin could be feasible – but solely after Ukraine secures tangible safety assurances.

On Thursday, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Putin would consider a meeting only when “all matters have been addressed” and that the presence of European forces in Ukraine would be “utterly unacceptable”.

In his evening address, Zelensky accused Russia of evading the “necessity” of such a meeting, despite the efforts led by the US.

– The current signals from Russia, quite frankly, are unclear. They are attempting to dodge the need for a meeting. They do not wish to bring this war to an end, he remarked.
