Don Lemon and Jamie Lee Curtis made theatrical departures from X (formerly known as Twitter) On Wednesday. They both exited X following Donald Trump’s announcement of Elon Musk as his newly appointed efficiency advisor.
President-elect Trump designated the Tesla mogul to lead his freshly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), partnering with ex-presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy.
Musk’s official designation is “Efficiency Czar.” Together, he and Ramaswamy are anticipated to eradicate government waste by terminating thousands of federal positions on the inaugural day of Trump’s presidency.
“Together, these two remarkable Americans will pave the path for my Administration to dismantle the Government Bureaucracy,” Trump declared in a statement on Tuesday.
Curtis shared the Serenity Prayer before removing her X account after Trump revealed Musk’s role on Tuesday night.
Lemon released a written declaration and produced a video to clarify the reasons for his departure from X, although he chose not to delete his profile with over 1.5 million followers.
