The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA ) has apprehended Lagos socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, commonly referred to as Pretty Mike, along with former Big Brother Naija Housemate Tuoyo Ideh, during a late-night operation at Proxy Night club, Victoria Island, Lagos, where over 100 attendees were present.
In a statement released by the agency’s Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, which was posted on its website on Sunday, it was claimed that boxes of prohibited substances, such as Loud and laughing gas, were confiscated from the location during the early morning operation conducted on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Sources explained that NDLEA agents, acting on reliable intelligence, infiltrated the nightclub at approximately 11 pm on Saturday before launching their raid on the crowd around 3 am, following established protocols.The statement details, “In Lagos, NDLEA agents conducted a raid at Proxy Nightclub located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, during the early hours of Sunday, October 26, where a drug festival was underway. More than 100 individuals, including nightclub owner Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, aka Pretty Mike, were detained and taken in for processing. Boxes of illegal substances, such as Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from both the attendees and the club’s storage area.“The raid was initiated due to intelligence regarding the drug party.
NDLEA agents, embedded in the event since 11 pm on Saturday, 25th October, disrupted the gathering at 3 am on Sunday, 26th October, in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
”Tuoyo confirmed his arrest by posting on his Instagram page on Sunday, voicing his frustration and dissatisfaction over the incident. He stated,
“I have been detained by the NDLEA at a nightclub in Lagos for essentially no reason since around 4 am; they made us sit like outlaws, over 150 of us here until now, taken to NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi, we didn’t break any laws, they entered the club with firearms and instructed everyone to lie down.”
Efforts from media house reporters to contact Pretty Mike for comment were unsuccessful, as his phone calls and messages went unanswered by the time news went viral.
In another similar operation, the agency reported the interception of 70 parcels of cocaine hidden inside cocoa butter body cream containers intended for London, United Kingdom, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. The cocaine, weighing in at 3.6 kilograms, was discovered on October 14, 2025, during an inspection of goods declared as personal belongings and set to be exported on an Air Peace flight to London. Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, the cargo agent who presented the shipment for air transport, was quickly arrested, and further inquiries over the next two weeks resulted in the apprehension of two additional suspects: a female healthcare worker, Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, and the Chief Executive Officer of a travel agency, Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi.
“The cocaine packages weighing 3.60 kilograms were found on 14th October 2025 during the inspection of items classified as personal belongings bound for London, UK on an Air Peace flight. The cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, was immediately detained while subsequent investigations unfolded over two weeks, leading to the arrest of two key suspects linked to the effort to export the concealed Class A drug to the UK.
In another operation, NDLEA officials at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu thwarted an attempt by a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, to smuggle 103.59 grams of methamphetamine hidden in a Diabeta herbs coffee tea package to the Philippines aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight on October 22.
