Trey Songz and His Long History of Legal Issues

Trey Songz has had a busy and tough month in New York City, but it’s not the kind of time he’ll be celebrating. The singer has been arrested twice in less than two weeks.

According to the reports, he attacked a security guard at a club earlier this month and also destroyed DJ equipment at a lounge. This isn’t the first time he’s gotten into trouble with the law. He has a long history of legal issues. In 2016, Trey Songz was arrested for attacking a police officer. It happened during a concert in Detroit. The venue staff cut his microphone because the show was past its curfew. Songz got angry and attacked a photographer, throwing equipment around. The situation got worse when police tried to control the situation. He then attacked an officer and was arrested on multiple charges.

In August 2017, Songz accepted a plea deal. He admitted to disturbing the peace and got 18 months of probation, anger management, and substance abuse screenings.He quickly got into trouble again in 2018. He was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic violence. A woman said he choked her, called her names, and hit her in the face at a party. She claimed he got angry when he found her talking to one of his friends. She later sued him, but eventually dropped the charges and the lawsuit. No criminal charges were filed.

In January 2021, Songz had another incident in Kansas City. He was arrested after a scuffle at a Chiefs game. He refused to wear a face mask during the pandemic. Security couldn’t get him to comply or leave, so police intervened. Songz resisted, and the situation turned violent. He hit the officer and tried to take him down. He later claimed the officer acted aggressively and he was defending himself.

His latest arrest is still ongoing. According to the New York Post, he was granted supervised release after a court appearance on December 14. He’s expected back in court in February.
