AKWA IBOM POLICE INTERCEPT TRUCK WITH 32 Northerners in ABIA BOUNDARY.

Akwa Ibom State Police Command said on Thursday it had intercepted a Dangote Truck conveying 32 Hausa and Fulani men, including the driver, at the boundary between the state and Abia State

The command, in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Nnudam Fredrick, said they were intercepted on Wednesday about 11.45 am.

He said,

“They are not almajiris but Hausa/Fulani men who live at Itam, Nasarawa Cattle market, Uyo but were leaving the state in a truck. They were intercepted on Wednesday May 13, 2020 about 11:45am at Obot Akara, between Akwa Ibom and Abia State.

“On interrogation, they said they were leaving the state since livestock trading was temporarily suspended in the state and cost of living difficult for them.”

He said the state commissioner of police, Imohimi Edgal, has ordered that they should not be allowed to leave the state until after the ban on interstate movement lifted.
