APC Announces 2027 Election Timetable and Fees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, setting the stage for a series of internal processes leading to party primaries in May 2026.

APC Fixes N100m Presidential Form Fee, Releases 2027 Election Timetable

As part of the announcement, the party also disclosed the cost of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants across all elective positions.


Presidential and Governorship Form Fees Revealed

According to the party, individuals seeking the APC presidential ticket will pay a total of N100 million, while governorship aspirants are required to pay N50 million for both expression of interest and nomination forms.


Breakdown of Fees for Other Positions

The APC also provided a detailed fee structure for other elective offices:

  • Senate: N3 million (expression of interest) + N17 million (nomination)
  • House of Representatives: N1 million + N9 million
  • State House of Assembly: N1 million + N5 million

Timeline for APC Primary Elections

The timetable, signed by National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu, outlines key dates for the party’s internal electoral process.

  • April 20: Notification of elections and start of preparations
  • April 25 – May 2: Sale of nomination and expression of interest forms
  • May 4: Deadline for submission of completed forms

Screening and Appeals Process

Screening of aspirants will take place in phases:

  • May 6 – May 8: Screening for National Assembly and governorship aspirants
  • May 9: Screening for presidential aspirants
  • May 11: Publication of screening results

Aspirants dissatisfied with the outcome will have May 12–13 to submit appeals.


Dates for APC Primaries

The party has scheduled its primaries as follows:

  • Presidential Primary: May 15–16
  • House of Representatives: May 18
  • Senate: May 20
  • State Assembly: May 21–22
  • Governorship: May 23

Post-Primary Appeals Schedule

Appeals arising from the primaries will be handled on different dates:

  • Presidential: May 18
  • House of Representatives: May 20
  • Senate: May 21
  • State Assembly: May 23
  • Governorship: May 25

APC Emphasizes Transparency

The party stated that the timetable aligns with Nigeria’s constitutional provisions, the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.

According to the APC, the move is aimed at ensuring a transparent and credible primary process while strengthening internal democracy ahead of the 2027 elections.
