Federal Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, along with her daughter, had the honor of representing the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the esteemed Freedom of the City of London Award Ceremony Dinner.

This elegant event took place in the magnificent Ballroom of the Dorchester Hotel, drawing in high-ranking dignitaries, international guests, and members of the Nigerian diaspora.

The Freedom of the City of London is one of the UK’s oldest and most meaningful honors, with roots tracing back to 1237.

It’s awarded to those who have made remarkable contributions to society, shown exceptional leadership, or fostered goodwill. By stepping in for the First Lady, Bianca Ojukwu and her daughter highlighted Nigeria’s presence on the world stage and expressed Senator Tinubu’s gratitude for this prestigious recognition.

A standout moment of the evening was a warm exchange between Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. Their brief conversation caught the attention of attendees, symbolizing a moment of unity and mutual respect among prominent figures in Nigeria’s history and politics.

Bianca Ojukwu, a respected diplomat and the widow of the late Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, continues to be a significant voice in Nigerian affairs.

Her participation in the event underscores ongoing efforts to enhance Nigeria’s image through diplomacy, cultural exchange, and international collaboration.
