Renowned native doctor from Anambra, Akwa Ọkụkọ Tiwara Aki, has been apprehended by security forces acting on behalf of the Anambra State Government due to accusations surrounding the disputed practice recognized as oke ite.
In the wake of his detention, Akwa Ọkụkọ strongly refuted ever engaging in oke ite ceremonies, labeling circulating social media recordings that associate him with the practice as misleading and untrue. He maintained that such ceremonies are not part of his expertise.
Nonetheless, law enforcement officials remain doubtful, referencing earlier assertions where he purportedly claimed to create oke ite for individuals.
Authorities have allegedly prompted him to furnish evidence of its reality and elucidate its workings, cautioning that neglecting to do so could lead to significant repercussions.
The apprehension has ignited discussions across social media, stirring diverse reactions from both advocates and adversaries.
