Ghana To Become a Visa-free Destination for all African Nationals.

Starting in early 2025, Ghana will become a visa-exempt haven for all African citizens, following the endorsement of the policy by President Nana Akufo-Addo last December.

The president’s resolution delivers on a pledge made during the Africa Prosperity Dialogues, highlighting the intention of nurturing “stronger connections across Africa.”

The visa-exempt initiative is anticipated to enhance tourism, commerce, and travel in the West African country, resolving issues that visa limitations have long posed to these industries. In the past, Ghana permitted visa-free entry for nationals of 26 African countries and visas on arrival for visitors from 25 additional nations, with merely two African countries necessitating visas in advance.

With this policy shift, Ghana aligns itself with Rwanda, Seychelles, Gambia, and Benin as the fifth African country to provide visa exemption for all African passport holders, representing substantial advancement toward regional integration and mobility across the continent.
