Rapper and singer Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has expressed strong worries about the increasing problem of cultism in the Nigerian music scene.
He said he is sad about this bad trend and mentioned that only a small number of Nigerian artists, including himself, have not joined a cult. Marley also made fun of artists who joined cults to gain power and protection. He pointed out that even the people who encouraged them to join still travel with police protection for safety.
On his X account, he wrote, âWe no reach 5 weh never join cult for this [music] industry.”Person weh put u for cult self dey carry police escort up and down.â
Earlier, Naira Marley had also refuted claims that he is part of a cult, saying he was once threatened by cult members because he refused to join.
