Khabane Lame a 22 year old Senegalese comedian has officially become the most followed TikTok star in the world.
The tiktok star Khabane Lame, regularly posts under the name @khaby.lame, defeated American Charli D’Amelio who has been at the top spot until on Thursday, June 23.
The 18-year-old American dancer has 142.2 million followers, while Khaby, who lives in Italy, jumped to 142.5 million following on the fun app overnight after months of tight follower battle.
Khabane Lame joined tiktok in March 2020, during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic after he lost his job and moved back in with his parents. He seized the opportunity of the lockdown and set up a TikTok account and quickly climbed his way to the top spot of the platform all thanks to his hilarious videos.
