As reported by PUNCH on Thursday, March 20, her son, Professor Yakubu Ochefu, confirmed the heartbreaking news during a phone conversation on Thursday, disclosing that she peacefully succumbed in her sleep on Tuesday in Makurdi, Benue State.
Maria Ochefu was wed to Colonel Anthony Ochefu, a former military governor of the old East Central State (now known as Enugu State). As per her son’s statements, Maria had been under medical supervision at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi prior to her passing.
