Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls legend, has made history again as he becomes the first athlete to enter Forbes 400 list of richest Americans.

Michael Jordan earned the 379th spot on the list following the sale of the Charlotte Hornets in August for $3 billion.

His wealth which is now worth $3 billion puts him in the same bracket as Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay, and real estate mogul Jerry Speyer, both of whom also made the list & are also sitting pretty with $3 billion.

Jordan, who has been a billionaire since 2014, had been a majority owner of Charlotte Hornet since 2010, when he bought the franchise for $275 million.

Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk holds tight No. 1 spot on the list with a net worth of $251 billion) and founder Jeff Bezos follows with a wealth of $161 billion.

Michael Jordan who is 60 years of age is one of only 3 professional athletes in history to build wealth valued at over $1 billion, along with LeBron James and Tiger Woods.
