Prepaid Meter Users in the country have been given directive by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission to update their meters before November next year.
The NERC stated that prepaid meter users might face difficulties in recharging their meters after November 2024 if the required update is not done before the deadline.
The commission which noted that the update is free, advised users to get in touch with their respective electricity distribution companies (DisCos) for more information on the process. The update will also not tamper with the units in the meters.
