The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has cautioned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is being misled regarding Nigeria’s security reality by his counsel.
Adeboye made this statement during the church’s November Holy Ghost Service, themed “The Eve of Glory.” Referring to a recent announcement from the Presidency, Pastor Adeboye voiced his concerns that the information did not represent the actual experiences of numerous Nigerians. He stated that the President, whom he referred to as his “in-law”, had been advised that security had markedly improved and that internally displaced persons (IDPs) had returned home.
The cleric strongly contested that assertion, implying that the advisers crafting such claims could be deceiving the President.
He remarked,
“I nearly expressed my thoughts last month when I heard the address from my in-law, the President. You can listen to it again, especially the portion concerning security. When I heard him declare that everything is now fine and that displaced individuals have returned to their villages, I almost indicated that the person who prepared that address for my President, my in-law, does not wish him well.”And if you were to inquire, ‘What do you mean? Someone wrote it, but it was the President who delivered it,’ my answer would be, didn’t he review it prior to presenting it? Well, if you pose it that way, then my conclusion is that there are several individuals around my dear in-law who are not conveying the truth.
I think the next day, we saw in the newspapers about a traditional leader who was murdered, whether in Kwara or Kogi.” But this is not the moment for assigning blame. Our President has inherited these issues; they began before his tenure. Moreover, I am an applied mathematician; I am focused on simply resolving the issue.
“Let the government utilize diplomatic means to persuade President Trump to grant us 100 days of grace. Call upon our military leaders, fortunately, they are new, and instruct them to perform within three months or step down.”We have been praying for Nigeria; we can’t pray all these prayers without resulting change.”There exists a principle known as Newton’s Law of Motion, which asserts that a body will remain stationary or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled by an external force to change its state. This implies that however God chooses to intervene, ultimately, there will be peace in Nigeria again.”
Adeboye clarified his hesitation to make public pronouncements, linking it to his role within the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).He expressed that, as a clergyman operating under the Christian collective, he practices restraint. To emphasize the significance of this chain of authority, he alluded to a biblical concept, stating, “I have discovered in the Bible that a person not under authority cannot expel a demon.
