Prof. Charles Soludo, the Anambra State governor, has escaped death by assassination as some unknown gunmen allegedly stormed Isuofia on Friday night. April 15,2022.
The gunmen, according to sources, stormed Isuofia, in Aguata Local Government Area which is also Governor Soludo’s home town to allegedly assassinate him because they thought had left Government House, Awka, to the town for the Easter celebration.
But, Unfortunately the gunmen were resisted by police officers stationed at the Isuofia junctions, and roads leading to the governor’s country home. It was gathered that the gunmen, who were quite numbered and heavily armed, invaded the Isuofia town at exactly 8.30 pm on Friday night with four jeeps.
Reliable Sources said the gunmen, who landed in the town armed to the teeth , were chased away by the police after a gun duet that lasted for hours into the night . It was learnt that the gun battle caused a stampede in the town as residents fled for their lives.
The attack was according to reports, left one anonymous police officer feared dead and many injured.
