A promotional poster crafted by a woman from Ebonyi has gained traction on social media after numerous individuals mistook it for an obituary. This confusion has sparked a flurry of comments online, with some attributing the ambiguity to the designer’s vague choices.
A Facebook user named Meme Plug General shared the image, expressing astonishment at the perplexing design.
He remarked,
“Omor, I nearly typed RIP,” signifying that he initially perceived the poster as a tribute to the deceased. The poster was intended to promote a four-day business training event in Ebonyi, however, its layout, including the font, colors, and the arrangement of the woman’s photo, closely resembled a typical obituary.
Social media users criticized the designer for this blunder, as the incident has initiated discussions about the essence of professionalism in graphic design. Many individuals are advising designers to be mindful of how their creations are perceived in order to prevent misunderstandings.
