Russia Cease Assault On Ukrainian Energy System.

On Wednesday, Russia revealed that it has ceased its assaults on Ukrainian energy systems following a discussion between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

The Kremlin also noted that it had intercepted its own drones heading towards Ukraine while they were airborne.

During their conversation on Tuesday, Putin consented to a temporary pause in assaults on Ukrainian energy installations but refused to endorse a full 30-day truce, as suggested by the US president.

“They were just positioned in combat formation—six of them were brought down by ‘Pantsirs’ (a surface-to-air missile system), and another one was eliminated by a (Russian) military aircraft,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated.

Peskov charged Ukraine with not honoring the proposed 30-day ceasefire on strikes against each other’s energy targets, alleging that Kyiv had attempted to launch an attack on Russian energy sites overnight.

Meanwhile, earlier on Wednesday, the Russian military accused Ukraine of intentionally trying to undermine the temporary pause by carrying out a drone attack on an oil depot in southern Russia.
