Takeoff Migos Group member was said to have done what he was supposed to do – he “checked in” with Houston area gangsters and still met with his death at age 28.
The Late Migos Rapper whose real names are Kirshnik Khari Ball, was one third of the Atlanta rap group Migos alongside Quavo and Offset.
According to street orientation, Out-of-town rappers are urged to “check in” with local gangsters whenever they visit a city. “Checking in” is gang terminology for getting permission to move around safely in the neighborhood the particular gang controls.
Takeoff and his uncle Quavo reportedly checked in with local gangsters in Houston, Texas on Monday while making appearances for the private night party of a local gang leader.
While watching a dice game between Quavo and the local gang banger alongside Takeoff got Terribly shot in the midst of Dozens of other people gathered on a large balcony outside 810 Billiards & Bowling to also watch the game.
An Eye witness report claimed as the game progressed, Quavo, 31, became upset for losing $7,000 which led to an argument and shots were fired.
Takeoff, who was reportedly an innocent bystander, was shot twice in the head and neck and pronounced dead at the scene while Quavo was unhurt.
Two other persons were transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds, and Armed security guards who were in the area claimed not to have seen the shooters.
Meanwhile, a disturbing cell phone video shows Quavo screaming while attempting to lift his nephew [Takeoff] off the floor.
Furthermore, hip-hop mogul J. Prince, Jr. has faced heavy criticism on social media for walking past Takeoff’s dead body on the floor as Quavo Cried.
“The way J Prince Jr. walked past takeoff on the ground is f-cking crazy. The way how the whole rap game gotta check in with these fraudulent niggas when they go to Houston is crazy.”
Tributes has since poured in for Takeoff on social media platforms. Atlanta’s professional teams – the Falcons and the Hawks also paid tribute to the fallen rapper.
