Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seemingly welcomed friends escaping the wildfires in Los Angeles into their residence.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reported to have extended an invitation to their manor in Montecito, providing sanctuary to acquaintances and family members who have been compelled to leave their homes due to the blazes, which ignited in Southern California on Tuesday, January 7, resulting in at least 10 fatalities and forcing over 100,000 Los Angeles residents to find shelter.
According to People, Harry and Meghan, residing approximately 140 kilometers north of the impacted region, have “opened their residence to friends and family who were forced to evacuate.”
The publication also notes that the couple is directing contributions to their Archewell Foundation to facilitate relief efforts and are collaborating with the organization to “identify the most effective strategies to assist the community during this emergency.”
The duo purchased their $US14 million ($A23 million) estate in 2020.
This news follows Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, releasing a message advising residents on how to ensure the safety of pets and vulnerable individuals in the wake of the catastrophe.
