UBTH Ugbowo received an unplanned visit from aggrieved students who are mourning the death of another due to perceived carelessness on the part of the health workers.
According to reports reaching Bluebloodz.com, the deceased student Comr. Boubouwei Andrew Perez was said to have been rushed to the emergency arm of the hospital due to severe pain as a result of a surgical [ appendicitis] complication.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the medical staffs on ground overlooked the excruciating pain of the deceased and only cared about the first monetary deposit before commencement of treatment. Even after all initial payments were made, an eyewitness said a medical personnel ended up administering a single injection which sent the deceased into slumber.
After hours of plunging into deep sleep due to the injection administered, concerned persons who conveyed him to the hospital thought he had died, but luckily , he woke up, with more pain.
On the fateful day he died, his sister was said to have escorted him to the toilet, since the medics told them that if he can pass out waste, he would be fully recovered. Returning back from the toilet, and settling on the bed, he stopped breathing.
Relatives requested for assistance to revive him, but the health workers on call were alleged to have tried reviving him using an empty oxygen tank which eventually led to his untimely demise.
The Late Perez as he is fondly called by his Course mate and friends was before his death the director of sports Faculty of Education, UNIBEN Zonal Exco [ PRO] of the Education Students Association Edo State.
