UK Travel Red list : UK government is set to delist 11 countries placed on its travel ban list beginning from today on Dec 15 by 4am bluebloodz.com has learned.
The countries that were previously added to the red list in November due to the uproar of the Omicron virus variant includes: Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe
The UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid revealed that the Omicron virus variant had spread broadly that the new travel rules and the red listing of countries no longer make much difference.
He also added that temporary testing measures for international travel will be maintained
Before the recent update all UK arrivals from the red listed countries pay for and self-quarantine themselves in a pre-booked, government-approved hotel for 10 days. They are also expected to take Covid tests within 48 hours of setting off for the UK and PCR tests within two days of their arrival.
