Woman Narrates How She Escaped Being Robbed In a Keke Napep In Lagos. [Video]

A woman has disclosed a fresh tactic used by thieves as she recounts how she evaded an attempted theft in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The woman articulated that she was able to flee because she had previously learned about the tactic after other victims shared their stories on TikTok.

She mentioned that she boarded a keke napep, and two other gentlemen were already positioned at the back of the tricycle when she climbed in.

She elaborated that after some time, the driver urged her to secure the tarpaulin cover at the entrance of the keke, which is typically used to protect passengers during rainfall. The driver also recommended that she relocate to the center of the keke if she was unable to close the tarpaulin, prompting the man in the middle to shift to the entrance of the keke.

Watch her describe her ordeal in the video below.

She expressed that since it wasn’t raining, she suspected they had ulterior motives for wanting to close the keke and place her between two men, so she instructed them to halt, claiming she forgot something at home.

She asserts that as she exited, the driver and the men in the keke hurled insults at her.

She advised other residents of Ikorodu to remain alert as she  informed about this emerging trick.
