Prof. Chris Piwuna, a consultant psychiatrist affiliated with the University of Jos Teaching Hospital, has been chosen as the new leader of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). He was appointed during the 23rd National Delegates Congress held in Benin on Sunday.

“He pointed out that even more concerning was the uploading of 13 forged IJMB credentials by the Professional Registration Centres, which are under investigation. He mentioned that out of the 13 cases being probed by the police, four wrongdoers have been captured and are currently assisting law enforcement and relevant authorities in apprehending the leaders of these examination syndicates. However, he added that the investigation uncovered internal accomplices within the institutions facilitating this severe misconduct.

“The Registrar also indicated that there have been reports from some CBT centers regarding the extortion of candidates for services that should be free, noting that this astonishing disclosure is detrimental to the integrity of the system. He urged the staff to remain dedicated to their responsibilities and to avoid engaging in actions that could compromise the Board’s integrity.”
